In Loving Memory of Dr. Hector Maldonado

Dr. Hector Maldonado was a man who touched the lives of countless people, both professionally and personally. He was a devoted husband, father, friend, and an accomplished orthodontist. It is with a heavy heart that we announce his passing on March 11, 2023, at the age of 63.

Hector was born in Killeen, Texas, on December 14, 1959, and later moved to Kenner, Louisiana, where he resided for the past 34 years. He was a proud graduate of Brother Martin High School, where he was a member of both the baseball team and the band. After attending the University of New Orleans, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1984. He then completed his residency in orthodontics in 1988 and went on to build a successful private practice in Metairie and Lutcher.

Hector was a gifted orthodontist who transformed the smiles of thousands of patients over the years. He was a mentor to many orthodontic residents as a faculty member of the LSU Orthodontic Department. Hector was dedicated to his profession and his patients, and his passion for his work was evident in the beautiful smiles he created.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Hector was a devoted parishioner of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, where he served on the school board and was a member of the Men’s Club. He was also a member of the Krewe of Thoth, where he rode in the parade with his son and son-in-law.

Hector’s legacy will live on through his son Kyle, who was his business partner and will be taking charge of the family practice. Kyle will continue his father’s legacy of providing exceptional orthodontic care to their patients, and will always remember the valuable lessons his father taught him about the importance of hard work, dedication, and compassion.

Hector will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kind heart, infectious smile, and unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and patients will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace, knowing that he made a significant impact on the world and left a lasting legacy of love and kindness.
